About the network
Launched in 2023, the Solutions Journalism Network is a global network that connects and highlights reporters around the world committed to creating and sharing rigorous and compelling reporting on responses to social problems. The organisation leads the global shift in journalism how people are trying to solve their problems and what we can learn from their failures and successes.
The main areas of solutions journalism are climate, democracy, youth mental health – see more details here and read the stories. The network not only connects reporters, but provides training and online toolkits, organises webinars and in person event.
The network runs an online directory that includes both organizations and individuals. It has 477 individual members and 150 news outlets, universities and support and training institutions, representing 65 countries and 44 languages.
The directory connects and visualizes the people and organizations invested in solutions reporting. This first-of-its-kind resource allows people interested in solutions journalism to connect directly with others. The directory can be used to build connections, strengthen professional networks and contribute toward the momentum of transforming journalism while spreading the practice of solutions journalism around the world.
