About the network
Are We Europe is a foundation working towards a borderless Pan-European media space. Founded in 2016 by four friends who were disillusioned by how traditional media covered Europe, they now have a dedicated team split between Brussels and Amsterdam.
The Pan-European media space is dominated by borders that prevent new journalistic voices and cross-border teams from telling innovative and creative stories on underreported topics. Are We Europe hopes to one day create a European media space in which there is space and attention for the stories that matter.
The team works towards this borderless future by developing opportunities that shape, diversify and strengthen the European media space; and by publishing stories on issues impacting European identities in ways that challenge media conventions.
Projects
The Circle Hubs – a collaborative programme aiming to create media knowledge hubs in several European cities.
Untold Stories – a project that amplifies stories from countries that are not so widely represented on the European stage. Are We Europe also publishes additional multimedia stories on its own website.
ENTR – a network of content creators producing stories with a European angle for social media.
